Getting ready to jet off on their next epic adventure to a galaxy far away, Frocket and Mini Frocket have landed in Chestergate to recharge their batteries and soak up some much-needed solar power. But until then, the space-mad duo are happily enjoying their time on earth
here in Stockport.
Proudly sponsored by Totally Stockport
Totally Stockport is Stockport’s Business Improvement District, generally referred to as a BID and the organisation behind #Stockportfrogs.
The Stockport BID generates funds through a BID levy, contributed to qualifying businesses within the town centre. These funds are specifically ring-fenced for projects that will enhance the town centre’s offering and generate additional footfall attracting new and returning customers for the BID levy payers. Priorities include making the town centre a safer place for customers and employees; stimulating and inspiring businesses to improve choice; marketing all areas of the town and to make it easier to do business in Stockport.
Stockport’s £1bn regeneration plan is transforming Stockport, a gigantic leap forward for the town centre, creating exciting opportunities for business and a destination of choice for residents and visitors. Totally Stockport is celebrating Stockport’s future with this unique art trail – Stockport’s Gigantic Leap Frog Art Trail – creating an engaging and vibrant, outdoor art trail attracting thousands of people from across the region and an opportunity to showcase Stockport, its business community and show how the town centre is changing. After the trail closes, the frogs will be auctioned with proceeds going to St Ann’s Hospice.
Lovingly created by Claire Byrom
A full-time designer and first-time frog painter, Claire Byrom (aka artworks54) is a freelance graphic designer based in Stockport who offers a full range of creative services including brand development, design, illustration and print/project management.
A keen ‘doodler’ with a love of vintage cars, retro ads, old books, beautiful typography and crafty kerning, she spends her days working closely with clients to support their creative needs, both locally and nationally, with any down time dedicated to developing her craft as an artist and as a musician within the brass band community. From cute and curious characters to funky frogs, her graphic eye, bold use of colour and simplistic styling is expressed in many of her pieces including her classic car prints and, more recently, her ‘socially distanced hugs’ campaign created during lockdown to help raise awareness and funding for mental health charities (and hopefully a few smiles along the way)!
