Isafrog, like his distant relative Isambard, is one of the world’s most celebrated engineers. He dreams up inventions with aniron resolve, to be the best frog engineer of this century.

In March 2021, Amstone Ventures acquired the 3.3-acre former Sainsbury’s site in the town centre for a £100m build-to-rent development of 550 homes. Sainsbury’s closed its doors at the Warren Street site in January. A planning application is expected this year ahead of a hoped-for start on site early in 2022. Lovingly created by Douglas Hutton
Born and brought up in Scotland, and now living in Cheshire, Douglas spent 25 years working as a chemical engineer with art as a hobby. Five years ago he changed career to concentrate on art, which finds most of its expression in paintings of wild Scottish landscapes with their rapidly changing colours and moods. He has had work selected for exhibition at the Stockport Open Exhibition and the Royal Cambrian Academy.
Douglas also enjoys exploring other subjects and media and has produced and sold cartoons and sculptures poking fun at idiosyncrasies in modern life. In 2019, it was this varied experience that drew him to submit designs for the frogs Stockport’s Giant Leap; this year Douglas is delighted to have two more of his designs selected – Frogwain and Isafrog Kingdom Brunel. He hopes the fun he had in creating these frogs comes across as they are displayed around Stockport.
